Weatherall cabin care, made clear

The right protection for every stage of your cabin.

Log homes need more than a general-purpose wood finish. Sun, rain, temperature changes and the natural movement of logs all affect how a cabin ages. LCMC is an authorized Weatherall dealer helping cabin owners, builders and maintenance professionals choose compatible stains, clear finishes, prep products and sealants for lasting results.

Choose the right Weatherall finish

UV Guard is a complete exterior system using two color coats followed by an Advance Clear topcoat. UV Guard II uses two color coats, with Advance Clear available as an optional topcoat. SuSTAIN is a penetrating oil finish that can be applied in one or two coats and offers soap-and-water cleanup. For decks and fences, Weatherall Deck & Fence Finish is designed for one- or two-coat application.

Start with sound wood preparation

A beautiful finish begins before the stain is opened. Existing coatings, weathered fibers, dirt, mildew, moisture and wood porosity can all change the result. Proper cleaning and restoration help the finish penetrate or bond evenly and make future maintenance easier. If you are working with older logs or an unknown coating, send us photos before ordering and we will help you plan the next step.

Order with a better project plan

Cabin dimensions, log profile, openings and coat count all affect how much material you need. Use our free log cabin stain calculator to build an estimate, then compare finish families and colors with the stain color visualizer. For final color selection, we recommend testing a sample on your actual wood because species, age, preparation and lighting influence the finished appearance.

Personal help before you buy

Your cabin is unique. Your product plan should be too.

Not sure whether your cabin needs a penetrating finish, a multi-coat stain system, a clear topcoat or restoration first? Send Nick your project details, dimensions and a few photos. LCMC provides practical guidance for homeowners and contractors without the guesswork.

Common cabin-care questions

Plan with confidence.

How do I choose between UV Guard, UV Guard II and SuSTAIN?

The best choice depends on the existing finish, desired appearance, maintenance plan and condition of the wood. UV Guard is a two-color-coat system finished with Advance Clear. UV Guard II uses two color coats with an optional clear topcoat. SuSTAIN is a penetrating oil finish used in one or two coats. Contact us with photos if you are unsure which system fits your cabin.

How much stain will my log cabin need?

Coverage changes with log shape, surface texture, wood porosity, openings and the number of coats. Start with our product-specific stain calculator, then include a reasonable material allowance so the project is not interrupted by a shortage.

Can I see a stain color before I order?

Our visualizer is useful for comparing color families, but screens cannot reproduce an exact finish. A sample applied to properly prepared project wood gives the most reliable color decision.

Do you help contractors and cabin builders?

Yes. LCMC supports homeowners, maintenance professionals, small cabin builders and contractors with product selection, quantity planning and ordering assistance for Weatherall systems.
